CZSPLIT Docfile
-------
Casio CZ 101/1000 Synthesizers have no split option, although they
feuture 4-channel midi mono mode. The idea now is to assign parts
of the keyboard to the 4 channel in order to allow splited play.
CZSPLIT now assigns the lower part (below the splitpoint) of the
keyboard to channel 1 and the upper part to channel 2,3 and 4.
The sound assignment in the upper part is handled dynamically, so
you are also able to play 3 tones a time...but only a monophonic
bass. Since bass is normally played monophonically, this does no
harm.
In order to use CZSPLIT, you must connect your CZ to the Amiga's
serial interface via a midi interface box. Then do the following
setup on the CZ (refer to the manual):
- SOLO MODE
- MIDI BASIC CHANNEL 1
- Program 1 to your Bass Sound
- Programs 2,3 and 4 to ALL THE SAME melody sound
- Turn back your voice channel to channel 1 (CH=1,VO=1)
- from WB, doubleclick on the icon
- from CLI, enter CZSPLIT or RUN CZSPLIT. You can add a
number from 1 to 126 to determine the split point.
CZSPLIT will then send a "LOCAL OFF" Message to the synthesizer
and then continually assign the notes to given channels. To
end CZSPLIT, click on the Close-Icon of it's "window".
